By Deborah Singer

How fasting can be incorporated into the process of muscle gain is what makes a lot of people wonder when they hear about it. The reason for this is based on the common knowledge that gaining muscles requires one to have a diet full of calories and progressive heavy lifting and body toning exercises. But this article discusses how fasting for muscle gain has become a popular phenomenon these days.

First, it is important that people understand the process of muscle building. An individual will have to engage himself in heavy lifting and body toning exercises daily. When it comes to the weights, the word progressive is used meaning that an individual will have to increase iron to the bar often in order to gain more muscles.

The nutrition for muscle increase should be composed of high calorie content foods such as; carbohydrates, proteins, fats and even vitamins. As for recovery, an individual will be required to get enough sleep daily and ensure to avoid stressful conditions as much as possible. This is an overview of what one is supposed to for muscle gain.

Fasting is a process where one denies himself food out of free will. This act has been associated with a lot of benefits in the body including getting rid of toxins. Persons can fast during the process of muscle gain whereby an individual only consumes food only when he is training, then during the resting or recovery period, one fasts.

Most people who lift the heavy weights engage in junking and sleeping during recovery period. It is however advisable that during such time they can practice fasting. This process will not only help such persons get rid of toxins from their bodies, but also burn the excess fats. Once recovery is over, the person then gets back to his normal routine of eating and progressive overload.

For people prone to accumulating excess fat when trying to put on muscles, this procedure will be particularly beneficial to them. Because they will not be eating, the fats stored in their bodies will be now used as an energy source when burned down. This way, when they will get back to the eating and heavy lifting routine, their bodies will be more likely to use the food consumed as an energy source to build muscles rather than store it as fat.

The fasting interval can vary in people. There are those who might decide to fast on those recovery days while others can decide to fast daily during the heavy lifting procedure. Such persons might have a 16 hour fast period and 8 hour feed program for their muscle build up procedure. This means that they will be having 1 to 2 heavy meals per day. This process will enable one get lean muscles.

Intermittent fasting is all that has been explained in this article and this routine has gained popularity among many people. Muscle increase and fat burn is now possible. But more research and consultation with a professional trainer should be done by all persons thinking of getting into this routine.
