For some women, regular visits to the salon are the order of the day while others go in only when the occasion is special. Those who do not go in regularly may be meaning to save some money as far as hair care is concerned. Professional hair care services can be costly especially for those with long hair. To avoid all the hassle, you can try natural relaxers for black hair and give your hair a salon-like experience.

Relaxing your mane at home using products which you have been made locally can save you considerable amount of money. However, as you go on with this, make sure that you observe safety measures to avoid accidents which may leave your scalp injured or the hairs damaged. Lime and milk from coconut are the popular products used in relaxing the mane naturally.

Every black woman has desired a straight hair at some point. Sometimes it is just because they want to experience how it feels to have a straight mane or it could be an attempt to do away with the kinks which are notorious in black mane. It becomes softer and a little wavy.

Commercially made hair relaxers are not the only option in relaxing the mane. In addition, because they are made from chemical, the possibilities of accidents while they are been applied is great. Some women have ended up bed-ridden after suffering from burns as a result of this chemical while others have been rendered bald in the process. Many things can go wrong when using the chemical relaxers and use of the natural type can save you the stress.

The natural technique of relaxing hair has been popular for many years. Its safety and efficiency have been confirmed. The mane ends up looking silky and becomes softer. The common methods used in relaxing black hair naturally are two. The first one is easy to follow but the second one gives you a better outcome and the waste produced is minimal.

The first technique requires mixing of half a cup of milk from coconut with lime. The solution is given some time to foam. It is the foam which is applied on the mane. One of the challenges faced when this method is used is the possibility of certain foam consistency getting compromised. This makes it runny and it will not give good results.

A better method is involves addition of 1 or 2 spoons of cornstarch and olive oil to the lime-coconut milk mixture. These products are whipped together under minimal heat until the consistency gets to the level of the conditioners made commercially. This ensures that once it is applied on the hairs it will not run off like the mixture in the first method. Olive oil is for maintenance of good hydration levels of the hairs.

The mixture is given time after application to work on the mane. A shower cap made from plastic material ought to be used in covering the hairs. After considerable time has elapsed, the hair can then be shampooed and a moisturizer applied. The results are super and the mane can be combed in different styles.
